The goal of the design was to create quality inner-city housing for key-workers within Sydneys CBD. The building itself serves as an extension to the heritage listed home already situated on the site.

The design aims to fit seamlessly into the current surroundings, whilst providing a modern and innovative approach to traditional design. The use of modern and sustainable materials, as well as the incorporation of light wells creates spaces that are inviting and welcoming.

Transitions looks to continue the natural gradient and transition between the architecture of the city and the landscape of the Domain. The theatre uses geometric and parametric design intertwined with aesthetic and organic form to act as a mediator between the city and domain.

Urban Oasis is a large voluminous catenary swimming centre that aims to create seemless transitions between closed and open spaces as well as a full acoustic, visual and sensual experience of water with a beautiful engagement with timber as a structural material.

This studio project focussed on the creation of layers between spaces, with access to sunlight, privacy and simplicity of spatial arrangement central to the design process. The housing project has been designed to facilitate middle-aged homeless womens growth and development in a safe and comfortable environment.
